Preliminary investigation of balanced stratified reduction (BSR) for imbalanced datasets
M. H. Zakaria, J. Jaafar, S. J. Abdulkadir
IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET), pp. 55–60
Introduces Balanced Stratified Reduction (BSR), a sampling technique for imbalanced data that stratifies the majority class horizontally, inspired by boxplots. Early tests on the PIMA Indian Diabetes and Haberman’s Survival datasets show it balances the classes while keeping key information from the majority class.
